The 17th European Beach Tennis Championships took place in Crete from September 26th to October 2nd at the Karteros Beach Sport Centre. The early days of the competition featured some of Europe's top players, with Giulia Gasparri extending her incredible run by defending her title for the fifth consecutive time and making her ninth straight appearance in the final.
After Europe’s premier Beach Tennis event, the spotlight shifted to the junior competitions, showcasing the talents of players in the 14 & Under and 18 & Under categories.
In the 14 & Under division, France’s Germain Bonte and Neo Lefebvre Merlier secured the gold medal after winning both the semifinal and final in match tiebreaks. In the girls’ draw, Estonia’s Kiira Paskov and Aylin Susi staged an impressive comeback, recovering from a set down to claim the title. The mixed doubles event saw Italy’s Martina Minguzzi and Francesco Ravagnan triumph, adding to their country’s success.
In the 18 & Under category, Spain’s top seeds Jorge Mendez Martinez and Nicolas Volpe Bravo took home the gold, while Italians Elena Francesconi and Alice Pepi continued Italy’s winning streak by capturing the girls' title. Francesconi also claimed gold in mixed doubles alongside Edoardo Paganelli, further cementing Italy’s commanding presence in the tournament.
