A stellar line up of the top 8 performing boys and girls aged 14 and 16 & Under was in action on the club's iconic clay courts. 28.10.22 - 19:45 - PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY
The Monte-Carlo Country Club officially closed the tournament with a sunset closing ceremony, where the four champions have received their trophies, goodie bags and prizes of a one-week stay at Mouratoglou Academy.
28.10.22 - 16:25 - BUDKOV KJAER BECOMES FIRST EVER NORWEGIAN MASTERS CHAMPION
Nicolai Budkov Kjaer scored a straight sets win over William Rejchtmann Vinciguerra in the first ever all-Scandinavian Junior Masters final.
The Norwegian took just 66 minutes to cruise to a 6-4 6-2 win over his Swedish opponent, becoming the first player from his country to win a Masters title in the process.
With the win, Budkov Kjaer completes an impressive season during which he won four Junior Tour 16 & Under titles. The top seed spent much of the year atop the Race to Monte-Carlo rankings, and amassed a record of 30 wins, 4 losses.
He commented, “It was a great match. Both of us were playing well from the start. William has been playing great all week, so congrats to him and his team, I’m very happy that I pulled out the win!”
28.10.22 - 15:00 - KOVACKOVA SECURES EIGHTH JUNIOR TOUR TITLE OF 2022
Alena Kovackova has beaten Diana-Ioana Simionescu (ROU) to secure her eighth Junior Tour title of a stellar season.
The Czech qualified for the Junior Masters in pole position in both the 14 and 16 & Under age categories, losing just once in singles (in the Les Petits As semi-finals) and winning some of the Tour’s most prestigious titles, including the European Junior Championships and playing on the victorious Summer Cups and World Junior Tennis teams.
She commented, "Playing here was incredible. I’ve had a great season, I won the European Junior Championships and now this, I’m super happy.” Father and coach Petr added, "It was a bit difficult for her because she played an ITF final on Sunday and she's also a bit injured, but with a good rest and the help from the physio, she made it through!"
28.10.22 - 13:20 - DIEGO DEDURA-PALOMERO: "WINNING HERE IS INCREDIBLE!"
Diego Dedura-Palomero has ensured that the boys' 14 & under trophy remains in German hands for a second successive year after enjoying a stress-free 6-0 6-2 win over Ukraine's Nikita Bilozertsev in the final. The result came as a relief to the European Championship silver medallist: "It's crazy, I wasn't expecting such a quick win, I thought I was going to play three sets. Its amazing to be here, same place as the Masters 1000, winning here is incredible," he said.
28.10.22 - 12:00 - KSENIA EFREMOVA: "I'M FEELING GREAT!"
Courtside after her 6-4 6-4 victory over Sona Depesova, the new 14 & Under girls' champion said, "There were some stressful moments now and then, especially at 5-1. I had a match point, but I didn’t manage to finish. Then she started coming back, 5-2, 5-3, I think she felt like she didn’t have anything to lose anymore. I recently had a very similar situation at another tournament, where I lost the set even if I was leading at first. So, this time, I said: okay, no, not again! I kept my focus, tried my best and finally won! "

27.10.22 - 17:30 - BUDKOV KJAER & REJCHTMAN VINCIGUERRA SET UP SCANDINAVIAN SHOWDOWN
The 16 & Under boys’ final will be an all-Scandinavian battle after both finalists breezed through their matches in Monaco on Thursday. Top seed and Race to Monte-Carlo #1 Nicolai Budkov Kjaer dropped just one game as he brushed past Kerem Yilmaz of Turkiye in less than hour.
The Norwegian will next face Sweden’s William Rejchtman Vinciguerra, a 6-1 6-2 winner over Romania’s Gabriel Ghetu. Both winners won over 75% of points on second serve to dominate their opponents.
Friday’s final will be broadcast on Norway’s TV2 and sees Budkov Kjaer looking to secure his fourth Tennis Europe Junior Tour title of the season. His opponent has five titles under his belt this year. To add extra spice, the winner of tomorrow’s match will become the first boy from their nation ever to win a Junior Masters title.
27.10.22 - 15:50 - KOVACKOVA ADVANCES TO 10th JUNIOR TOUR FINAL OF 2022
The top two seeds will battle for the Girls 16 & Under title. #2 Diana-Ioana Simionescu won an all-Romanian battle with Ekaterina Andrada Komarov to book the first final spot 6-3 6-4 in 70 minutes of play.
In the other half of the draw, top seed Alena Kovackova (pictured) has won all but one of the singles tournaments she has played in 2022 but had a tough battle against Noemi Maines of Italy. Just as in their previous meeting, the Czech ace had to fight back from the loss of the first set to overcome her opponent.
Friday’s meeting between Kovackova – who qualified for the Masters in pole position in both the 14 and 16 & Under age categories, but elected to play the 16 & Under event – and Simionescu will be their first encounter. The Czech is aiming for an incredible eighth singles title of 2022, while Simionescu is gunning for her third.
27.10.22 - 14:00 - BILOZERTSEV & DEDURA PALOMERO TO BATTLE FOR 14&U BOYS' TITLE
Nikita Bilozertsev and Diego Dedura Palomero will clash for the boys’ 14 & Under title in Monte-Carlo on Friday.
Both players scored straight sets semi-final wins in the midday Monaco sunshine. Dedura-Palomero won the all-German battle with friend and occasional doubles partner Niels Mcdonald 6-4 6-4, while Ukraine’s Bilozertsev (pictured) beat Matei Todoran of Romania 6-3 6-2 in just over an hour.
It is the first meeting between the two players, each of whom has one Junior Tour this season. Bilozertsev triumphed at the Super Category Christmas Cup in January, while Dedura-Palomero won in Isernhagen and was a silver medallist at the European Junior Championships in Most.
27.10.22 - 12:45 - EFREMOVA TO FACE TO DEPESOVA IN 14&U GIRLS' FINAL
Top seed Ksenia Efremova will face unseeded Sona Depesova in the girls’ 14 & Under final after both players advanced with straight forward wins on Thursday morning. For a second successive day, Efremova was the first player to post a win, taking less than an hour to end the hopes of yesterday’s marathon winner, Kali Supova (SVK), 6-2 6-1.
She’ll be gunning for her fifth 14 & Under title of the season against Depesova (pictured), who followed up her win over the third seed yesterday with an upset of second seeded Slovakian compatriot Mia Pohankova. The pair has met once before in Junior Tour singles action, with Efremova winning their first match comfortably at TIM Essonne in February of this year.

26.10.22 - 19:40 - SCANDINAVIANS ADVANCE TO 16&U SEMIS
Four different nations will be represented in tomorrow’s Boys 16 & Under semi-finals.
William Rejchtman Vinciguerra of Sweden was the first player to book his spot, easing past Sergey Zivkovic (SRB) for the loss of just four games. The fourth seed will next face Gabriel Ghetu of Romania, who recovered from a 1-6 deficit to outlast #2 Timofei Derepesko 6-3 6-2.
Another Scandinavian player advance in the top half of the draw, where top seed Nicolai Budkov Kjaer (pictured, above) beat Mateusz Lange (POL) 6-3 6-4. Having spent much of the year heading the Race to Monte-Carlo, the Norwegian is keen to make the most of his time in Monaco. “I would tell anybody who is playing Tennis Europe to try to play as many tournaments as possible to qualify for the Junior Masters, because it’s a fun experience, (with) many good players and such amazing courts,” he said.
His semi-final opponent on Thursday will be Kerem Yilmaz. The Turkish player survived a first set tie break against Antonio Voljavec of Croatia before accelerating to a 7-6(4) 6-1 win.
26.10.22 - 17:30 - KOVACKOVA & MAINES SET UP 16&U SEMI-FINAL CLASH
16 & Under girls’ seeds Alena Kovackova and Noemi Maines advanced to a semi-final clash after contrasting opening matches in Monte-Carlo on Wednesday. Fourth seed Maines of Italy overcame a second set fightback from Alexa Ioana Tatu (ROU) before eventually sealing a 6-3 4-6 6-4 win in 2 hours 22 mins. She’ll play the Tour’s standout player of 2022, Alena Kovackova, after the Czech breezed past Hungary’s Flora Farkaslaki 6-2 6-3.
The other half of the draw will see an all-Romanian battle. Diana-Ioana Simionescu (ROU) conceded just six games Tereza Krejcova (CZE), while Andrada Ekaterina Komarov (ROU) upset third seed Emilia Kats 6-4 6-3. Asked about the prospect of playing her friend, who leads their head-to-head 2-0, Simionescu joked, “We obviously know each other very well. What's funny is that we are also roommates, so maybe we'll steal each others racquets tonight.”
26.10.22 - 15:50 - HOPES FOR SECOND SUCCESSIVE ALL-GERMAN FINAL STAY ALIVE
Three of the eight boys 14&U qualifiers are from Germany: the nation's best ever performance. They'll be hoping to repeat last year's all-German final, and it's a distinct possibility. Diego Dedura-Palomero upset top seed Ivan Ivanov (BUL) 6-1 6-7 7-5 and Niels Mcdonald fought back to beat home favourite Lenny Petit (MON) 6-7 6-1 6-2 in two of the day's most exciting matches so far. Ukraine's Nikola Bilozertsev put an end to German hopes of a clean sweep, beating Christopher Thies 6-3 6-3.
26.10.22 - 13:40 - SLOVAKIAN PAIR INTO 14&U SEMIS
Sona Depesova (SVK) scored the first upset of the 2022 Junior Masters, conceding just four games to Czech third seed Julie Pastikova to advance to the semi-finals. She’ll next face third seed Mia Pohankova, the European Junior Championships silver medallist, who beat Maia Ilinca Burcescu 6-3 6-2.
The other semi final will feature the winner of the day’s quickest match – top seed Ksenia Efremova was a 6-3 6-1 winner over Yuliya Perepekhina – against the winner of the longest. Fourth seed Kali Supova survived a three-hour battle to outlast Sofie Hettlerova (CZE), eventually winning 6-4 4-6 7-6(6). Supova trailed 1-5 in the final before employing the full variety of her shots to mount a spectacular recovery and become the second Slovakian semi-finalist.

25.10.22 - 19:35 - LJUBICIC JOINS JUNIOR SCHOOL
A special class of the Tennis Europe Junior School kicked off the Junior Masters in Monte-Carlo on Tuesday evening.
The 32 players in attendance took part in an interactive session hosted by Tennis Europe CEO Thomas Hammerl, which included topics ranging from safeguarding to media responsibilities and social media.
The group was joined by special guest, former world #3 Ivan Ljubicic, who shared experiences from his time as a junior, then a top professional player and more recently, as coach to Roger Federer. Asked what advice he had for the elite young players in attendance, he said, “Enjoy this tournament. Don’t worry so much about winning. One of you will be the best, but everybody that reached Monte-Carlo is amazing.”
The season-ending Masters gathers together the top 8 European boys and girls of the Tour’s 14 and 16 & Under age categories according to their performances at Tennis Europe events throughout the year. The qualifiers in 2022 have combined to win a total of 82 singles titles and played 1,270 matches on the Tour this season.
