A memorable edition of Tennis Europe’s Annual General Meeting has been held in Belek, Antalya, where the Turkish Tennis Federation hosted 130 delegates from 44 nations.
A cocktail soirée on arrivals day was the scene for the kick-off of Tennis Europe’s golden jubilee celebrations. 2025 marks 50 years since of the founding of the organisation, with commemorations due to continue throughout the year.
The evening also saw the unveiling of Tennis Europe’s new branding, the result of an extensive project to modernise the corporate identity of both Tennis Europe and the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, which consists of over 500 international tournaments for players aged 12, 14 and 16 & Under, and has events in 45 member nations.
Chaired by Tennis Europe Vice-President Florence Alix-Graveliler, Friday’s conference session saw an open format with the day divided into four key sessions on the themes of digitalisation, communications strategies, unlocking commercial potential and driving growth through gender balance.
The programme included contributions from FIFA’s Rudiger Müller, David Jäger of Strategy One, representatives from the International Tennis Federation and many national tennis federations.
Saturday’s Plenary Session saw reports on Tennis Europe’s performance in 2024. Delegates approved the 2024 financial statements, the 2025 budget and proposed amendments to the constitution.
The Faroe Islands Tennis Association’s application to join the European tennis family was approved unanimously by the assembly. With effect from 1st January 2026, FITA will become the European Tennis Federation's 51st member.
Saturday also saw Tennis Europe’s traditional awards ceremony, honouring nations for performance and individuals for outstanding contributions. Italy dominated the performance categories for a third consecutive year: a full report on the winners can be found here | Photos
Tennis Europe President Henrik Thorsøe Pedersen commented, “This was a landmark AGM in which we have been able to honour our past while simultaneously taking a major step into the future with a new corporate identity. We also met with new commercial partners, introduced our strategy for the coming years, and made some key constitutional amendments. And we’re delighted to welcome the Faroe Islands Tennis Association as our 51st member, in our 51st year. I’d like to extend my most sincere thanks to the Turkish Tennis Federation, and especially President Müdderisgil for the warm hospitality, perfect organisation and attention to detail throughout the weekend.”
Saturday evening’s gala dinner saw a spectacular show from the hosts at the Limak Atlantis Hotel & Resort, featuring music and dance from across Türkiye and a magnificent birthday cake to honour Tennis Europe’s 50 years. Tennis Europe also presented a special award to Frank Binder from the organisation's leading partner, Dunlop, who recently celebrated its own important milestone of 100 years.
During the meeting, it was confirmed that next year’s event will be hosted by the Polish Tennis Association in Gdansk.
