Tennis Europe has signed a three-year agreement with Kalimera Kriti, which becomes the organization’s new ‘Official Resort Partner.’
A key feature of the resort is Greece’s largest tennis centre: an outstanding stone-built facility equipped with 20 clay courts (including a 500-seater centre court), 6 artificial grass courts, and 2 padel courts built in a stunning landscape overlooking the Cretan Sea.
A member of the world-renowned Helios Hotels & Resorts Group, Kalimera Kriti Hotel & Village Resort offers a unique experience on the north coast of Crete, comprising three Cretan-style villages. In honouring the island’s natural heritage, guests are invited to enjoy authentic Cretan hospitality and immerse themselves in a premium vacation experience, in a beachfront location spread harmoniously over 240,000 square metres of beautiful Mediterranean gardens.
Kalimera Kriti CEO, Mrs. Anna Mantonanaki added, "We are proud to receive this recognition from Tennis Europe and view the partnership as a unique opportunity to showcase our brand-new World-Class Tennis Center to the global tennis community. Our goal is to strengthen our collaboration with national federations and the wider tennis world while promoting Crete and Greece as a premier tennis destination. We are confident that this partnership will pave the way for Kalimera Kriti to host several key Tennis Europe events in the coming years."
Tennis Europe President Henrik Thorsoe Pedersen said, “The island of Crete has long been an important location for Tennis Europe, having hosted many Junior Tour and European Beach Tennis Championship events, as well as major conferences. We are delighted to embark on this journey with Kalimera Kriti, whose facilities are sure to become one of Europe’s leading tennis destinations.”
The partnership begins with immediate effect. Representatives from Kalimera Kriti attended the recent Tennis Europe Annual General Meeting in Antalya to give delegates from the regional association’s 48 active member nations an exclusive preview of the resort, which is currently nominated for ‘Europe’s Leading Sport Resort’ at the 2025 World Travel Awards.
