Showcase of skill at the European Masters Club Championships

Over the past two weeks, the European Masters Club Championships brought together over 470 players representing 101 teams clubs in a showcase of talent and determination. Hosted at the Megasaray Club Belek in Antalya, Türkiye, this event welcomed teams from 15 countries, each competing for the honor of claiming a European title for their club.

The competition was divided into two action-packed weeks:

  • Week 1 featured age groups 55+ to 70+.
  • Week 2 saw the 30+ to 50+ categories take center stage.

Week 1 Highlights

In the women’s events, Zekeriyaköy Spor Kulübü successfully defended their Women’s 55 title from 2023, showcasing their consistency at the highest level. Meanwhile, Sweden’s Lidingö Tenisklub made history by capturing the Women’s 60+ trophy for the first time ever.

On the men’s side, Belgium’s Argayon team reached the Men’s 55 final for the second consecutive year but were outplayed by Switzerland’s TC Lido Luzern. However, the Belgians bounced back with a strong performance in the Men’s 60 category, taking home the gold.

In the Men’s 65 event, St. George’s Hill from Great Britain made a triumphant comeback after last year’s narrow miss, defeating Tennis Club de Lyon to secure the title. The team featured Paul French, a former world #1 in his age group. The Men’s 70 crown went to Germany’s TC Rot-Weiß Bad Oeynhausen, who triumphed over home favorites Pamukkale.

Week 2 Highlights

Men

For the first time ever, Slovenia celebrated victory in the M30 category, with CTA&GFTA defeating Türkiye’s ATIK team. Meanwhile, Türkiye’s Mete Tenis Kulübü enjoyed a fantastic week, securing titles in the M35 and M40 categories.

The M45 title went to Austria’s TC Valentin, continuing their dominance after wins in 2022 and 2023. Their star-studded team, featuring former ATP Top players Stefan Koubek (highest rank #20) and Bohdan Ulihrach (highest rank #22), added both strength and experience to their impressive performance.

In the M50 category, Belgium’s Argayon added to their trophy cabinet, improving on last year’s runner-up finish to claim the title in style.

Women

Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany made history by clinching their first-ever W30 title, defeating Türkiye’s Alaçatı Tenis Kulübü in the final.

The W35 championship was won by Switzerland’s TC Bonaduz, while Italy’s ASD Borgotrebbia successfully defended their 2023 W40 title.

Although Mete Tenis Kulübü narrowly missed out on the M45 crown, their women’s team made up for it by claiming the W45 title. Featuring former WTA player and former Seniors world #1 Sylva Hahn, alongside Fed Cup star İpek Şenoğlu Turna, the team showcased exceptional skill and resilience to earn a well-deserved victory.

Italy’s Match Ball Firenze Country Club took home the W50 trophy, led by world #1 Valentina Padula, whose presence added prestige to their victory.
