15:45 - SCHOEN DOES THE DOUBLE, + ROMANIAN JOY IN KLOSTERS
The doubles finals have reconfirmed that it's a historic day in Klosters. The duo of Mara Gae & Cara Maria Mester (pictured) have become the first Romanian girls in almost 20 years to clinch a gold medal at the European 18 & Under Championships. Throughout the tournament, they showcased remarkable teamwork, fitting together like perfect puzzle pieces, and displaying exceptional on-court chemistry. Their dominance was evident as they triumphed in all their matches in straight sets.
The top seeds scored another straight forward win in Sunday’s final, this time over second seeded Poles Zuzanna Pawlikowska & Malwina Rowinska, 6-2 6-3.
On the boys' side, Patrick Schoen has solidified his place in Swiss tennis history as the first boy from the host nation ever to secure not one but two gold medals at the prestigious European 18 & Under Championships. Alongside his partner, Adrien Berrut, he fought in the doubles final against the Italians Gabriele Vulpitta & Carlo Alberto Caniato.
The high-stakes match saw thrilling exchanges and a challenging battle that ended with Schoen and Berrut delighting the home crowd with a 7-5 4-6 10-8 win.
12:45 - SULJIC BECOMES FIRST EVER SLOVENIAN BOY TO BECOME EUROPEAN CHAMPION
Svit Suljic scored his third upset of the Championships to outlast fifth seed Daniel Jade of France in an entertaining match to claim the European 14 & Under Championship title.
The pair had set a hotly anticipated final after posting near identical performances throughout the week. Both reached the finals without the loss of a set, and had even beaten their semi-final opponents by the same scoreline.
After two sets, it was still difficult to separate them, with Jade claiming the first 6-3 before his opponent battled back to claim the second by the same score. The third set was a war of attrition with both players employing a range of drop shots and net play. With each game now an extended battle, Suljic broke through at 2-2 and held his advantage throughout the decider, eventually claiming the win on his first match point.
The win makes Suljic the first Slovenian boy ever to win a European Junior Championship title in any age group. Unseeded, he beat the third, fifth and sixth seeds en route to the title. Victory at the European Championships guarantees Suljic a spot at the Tennis Europe Junior Masters, due to be held in Monte-Carlo from 2-5 November.
12:30 - UNDERDOGS CLAIM GOLD IN KLOSTERS
Patrick "Unstoppable" Schoen has become the first Swiss player to secure the coveted gold medal at the esteemed European Junior Championships. Once again, he proved he knows how to play smart and keep the match under his control. Despite Tiago Pires (FRA) attempting to disrupt his rhythm with dropshots and volleys, Schoen's determination prevailed, leading him to claim the title. Speaking of titles, he will soon be back on the court with Adrien Berrut, joining forces to battle the Italian pair of Gabriele Vulpitta & Carlo Alberto Caniato in the doubles event.
Meanwhile on Court 2, Ariana Geerlings (ESP) displayed unwavering composure against top seed Nina Vargova (SVK). The Spaniard remained focused on her objective and allowed Vargova to win merely three games throughout the entire match. This victory marks the end of a drought for Spanish players in the championship since Sara Sorribes Tormo's triumph over Paula Badosa in 2014.
Graphic: Schon will be attempting to join this exclusive list of players who managed to win gold in both singles and doubles in the same year at the 18 & Under event.
12:00 - BOYS' FINAL DOWN TO THE WIRE...
The Boys' 14 & Under final between Daniel Jade (FRA) and Svit Suljic (SLO) continues, at one set apiece...follow the action from Most right here:
11:50 - VUJOVIC WINS SERBIAN SHOWDOWN, DOUBLES GOLD FOR CZECHS, HUNGARIANS
Luna Vujovic cruised to victory against her doubles partner Dusica Popovski in what was the first ever all-Serbian final at the tournament.
The first set was evenly matched until Vujovic scored a late break. As she served for the set, Popovski squandered four break points after which Vujovic visibly grew in confidence. She raced to a 5-0 lead in the second set before Popovski showed her fighting qualities. She managed to break twice to peg back three games, but Vujovic was ultimately too strong, securing the title with a 6-3 6-3 win.
Vujovic had arrived in Most hungry for more success, having won the Wimbledon 14&U Invitational event just last Sunday. With the win, she is guaranteed a spot at the Tennis Europe Junior Masters in Monte-Carlo in November, and will rocket from her current ranking of #29.
Both doubles finals were straight forward matches won a dominant team that conceded just four games. Czech boys Tomas Krejci & Jakub Kusy were the first title winners of the day. Enjoying the support of the home crowd on centre court, they brushed aside Estonians Ken Ink & Nikita Smirnov 6-1 6-3. The win marks a second time in three years that the Czech boys have taken the title in Most.
The girls final saw an upset as Luca Kalman & Greta Nemcsek became the first Hungarian girls to win the 14 & Under title since 1993. They were in control from the start of their 6-2 6-2 win over second seeds Stefania Boian & Giulia Popa of Romania.

08:20 - UNDER PRESSURE...WHAT VICTORY WOULD MEAN
Several players have a chance to make history with wins in today’s finals. Let’s take a look at the line up, and what’s on the line…
Patrick Schoen has played with freedom all week on home soil in Klosters. But he’ll be feeling pressure to prodce a home winner for the local fans today. He has two chances to do so – playing the singles final against Tiago Pires of France at 10am and then returning for the doubles at 12:30.
No Swiss boy has ever won this category, although three Swiss girls have (Lilian Drescher in 1981, Martina Hingis in 1994 and Stephane Voegele in 2007). None of those managed to add the doubles title too though, so that would be a first for Schoen. One thing is for sure, he likes these courts. During his time on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, Schoen managed to win just one tournament, as a 14 & Under. That tournament was here in Klosters.
Also feeling the weight of history is Nina Vargova (SVK), who is hoping to become one of a handful of players to win gold medals in successive years. Having won the doubles event here last year, she will face Spain’s Ariana Geerlings for the singles title.
Over in Most, two proud Serbians are getting ready for what will be the first ever all-Serbian final. Luna Vujovic and Dusica Popovski have guaranteed two medals for their country and been unstoppable so far. Now they’re playing for personal as well as national pride – who will come out on top? It's only the fifth occasion that the girls' 14 & Under final has been between two compatriots. Check out the others above.
There’s curious symmetry about the boys’ final between Svit Suljic (SLO) and Daniel Jade (FRA): their weeks have been almost identical. Neither has lost a set in five singles wins so far, both won their semi-finals 7-6 6-1. And exactly seven days ago, both players were competing on the big stage at a Grand Slam venue – Suljic as runner-up at the Wimbledon Invitational, and Jade winning the Cat.1 Stade Française title, whose finals were played at Roland Garros.
Suljic could become the first boy from Slovenia ever to win this title, while Jade hopes to ensure France has three winners in the last 10 editions, the most recent being Sean Cuenin (2018) and Corentin Moutet (2013).
Play begins at 10am CET at both venues, with several finals taking place simultaneously. Follow all the action with the streaming links at the top of the page.
08:15 - RACE TO MONTE-CARLO
At this stage of the season, many of the top 14 & Under players already have one eye on securing a spot at the prestigious season-ending Junior Masters, played at the Monte-Carlo Country Club in Monaco from 2-5 November. The elite event is for the Tour's top performing players, and a wild card is saved for the winner of the European Junior Championships: good news for either Suljic, Jade, Vujovic or Popovski.

Before we look agead to finals day, let's look back to yesterday's highlights. A treasure trove of photos have been added to the tournament galleries overnight, including this fantastic image of Nina Vargova celebrating the moment she secured her place in the Girls 18 & Under final. Day 6 - Saturday
20:30 - SCHOEN AIMS FOR HISTORY BOOKS IN KLOSTERS
Patrick Schoen will be hoping to make history in Klosters on Sunday as he attempts to become the first Swiss boy ever to win two gold medals at the European Junior Championships. He and team-mate Adrien Berrut combined for a 6-3 6-3 upset of sixth seeds Lasse Poertner & Max Stenzer (GER) in their semi-final on Saturday.
In the title decider they’ll face fifth seeded Italians Carlo Alberto Caniato & Gabriele Vulpitta, who were in no mood to hang around as they despatched Joel Schwaerzler & Benedikt Szerencsits 6-2 6-1. Having also lost in singles earlier in the day, Schwaerzler adds two bronze medals to the gold he won at the 16 & Under singles event last year.
The girls’ final pits the top two seeds against each other. In the top half of the draw, Mara Gae & Cara Maria Mester of Romania ended Nina Vargova’s hopes of a second successive doubles title in Klosters. Teaming this time with Tamara Skramkova, the Slovaks were outplayed 6-3 6-3.
The top seeds next play Zuzanna Pawlikowska & Malwina Rowinska of Poland, whose semi-final was less straight forward. Having won the first set 6-3, the pair were broken by Luca Udvardy & Kitti Molnar at the closing end of the second to level the match. The Polish pair recovered their momentum though, leading throughout the deciding tie break and eventually claiming a 3-6 6-4 10-7 win.
16:30 - 14 & UNDER DOUBLES FINALS SET
Both boys’ and girls’ doubles semi-finals featured one easy win and one extended battle. The first team through to the final was Estonia’s Ken Ink & Nikita Smirnov, who lost just three games in their domination of Swedish pair Knut Andersch & William Kjellberg. It was a tough day at the office for Kjellberg, who also lost his singles semi-final, but not many players go home with two medals from one European Championship event!
The other boys’ semi-final showcased the fighting qualities of Czech duo Tomas Krejci and Jakub Kusy. Facing top seeds Samim Filiz & Kaan Isik Kosaner, they took an early lead but were pegged back when the Turks levelled the match at one set apiece. The 24-point deciding tie break had the crowd on the edge of their seats and it was the home team that eventually triumphed, and Krejci will now go for a gold medal on Sunday to add to his single bronze.
10th seeds Luca Kamlan & Greta Nemcsek were in control throughout their match against Barbara Kostecka & Oliwia Sybicka (POL). The Hungarians won 6-4 6-2 and sat back to watch a thrilling second semi between the second and third seeds.
For a while it looked as though Sara Oliveriusova & Lucie Slamenikova would keep alive the two-year Czech streak of winning the girls doubles gold, but Stefania Boian & Giulia Popa fought back from a set down to eventually outlast their hosts 3-6 6-4 10-7. Oliveriusova secures her second bronze medal of the Championships, while Popa - like Krejci in the boys´events - will try to add gold tomorrow to her singles bronze.
15:15 - PIRES & SCHOEN, GEERLINGS & VARGOVA TO CONTEST 18 & UNDER FINALS
It was a busy morning for Tiago Pires. In his first match today he completed his quarterfinal contest against Sebastian Eriksson (SWE), coming back from a set down to clinch a medal. After a brief rest the French player returned to the court to face Germany’s Lasse Poertner. Perhaps his game was sharpened by the extra early morning match, as Pires was always in control, conceding just four games to win 6-3 6-1.
On the other side of the draw, Patrick Schoen continues to fly the flag for the host nation. The first set against Joel Schwaerzler (AUT) was closely contested, with Schoen breaking in the tenth game to seal the lead. He raced away with the second set after that, winning 6-0 to secure his final berth. He’ll be looking to become the first Swiss boy ever to win the 18 & Under title.
As for the girls semifinals, Ariana Geerlings (pictured) was not intimidated by French opponent Yaroslava Bartashevich’s much better ranking (#510 vs #64), and was always in control of their match. She claimed victory with a score of 6-3 6-3 and then waited to see if compatriot Marta Soriano could set up an historic all-Spanish final.
That was not to be, as the tournament’s top seed Nina Vargova posted arguably her best performance of the week to defeat the 2022 16 & Under silver medallist. The Slovakian won 7-5 6-3 and will be hoping to add singles gold tomorrow to the doubles gold she won in Klosters last year.
12:15 - VUJOVIC, POPOVSKI, SULJIC & JADE SECURE FINAL PLACES IN MOST
There will be an all-Serbian girls’ final in Most tomorrow as Luna Vujovic and Dusica Popovski face off for the title of European 14 & Under Champion.
Vujovic continued her impressive recent win streak with an upset of top seed and European#2 Giulia Popa of Romania. Having eased to the first set 6-3, the second was a fierce battle, with Vujovic saving three set points at 3-5 before eventually forcing a tie-break.
She next faces doubles partner Popovski, who had a much easier time on Saturday. After a close first set, she raced away with the final eight games, ending the hopes of Sara Oliveriusova (CZE) 6-4 6-0. It will be the second meeting between the two compatriots on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour. The first went to three sets, but was way back in 2021, when Vujovic won at the 12 & Under event in Cacak.
France’s Daniel Jade (pictured, below) is another player on a roll at the moment. A champion last week at the Cat.1 event in Paris, he was the first player to book his final spot. After clinching a first set tie break over William Kjellberg of Sweden he never looked back, just dropping one game in the second set.
Jade has not been threatened so far this week, winning all five of his matches in straight sets. Bit he faces a formidable task in the final against Svit Suljic. The unseeded Slovenian is also one of the hottest players on the 14 & Under circuit right now. Having reached the finals of the Wimbledon 14 & Under Invitational last week, he has had no problems adapting to the clay and has also yet to concede a set this week.
In his semi-final he deftly dismantled the game of fifth seed Tomas Krejci (CZE). After a see-saw first set in which both players seized the momentum before seeing their opponent level, Suljic clinched a tie break before accelerating to the win. Both semis ended with identical scores: 7-6 6-1. Tomorrow’s final will be the first meeting between the two players.
10:30 - INTO THE SEMIS
The three pending 18 & Under singles quarterfinal results from Klosters are now complete:
Tiago Pires (FRA) d. (11) Sebastian Eriksson (SWE) 3-6 6-1 6-4
Marta Soriano (ESP) d. Loes Ebeling Koning (NED) 5-7 6-0 6-1
(19) Yaroslava Bartashevich (FRA) d. (3) Rebecca Munk Morentensen (DEN) 6-1 7-6
The semi-finals are about to start, led by Patrick Schöen (SUI) vs. Joel Schwaerzler (AUT).
09:55 - LOOKING AHEAD IN MOST
They're warming up in Most, where the 14 & Under semi-finals showcase some of the region’s most outstanding players. They’re pretty respectful of each other, too. Here’s what some of them had to say ahead of today's matches
Luna Vujovic: "I will try to give my best and enjoy every moment of the match. I am happy to play against her [Giulia Safina Popa], so I want to enjoy it."
Tomas Krejci: "I played well today. I know Mark is a tough opponent and I’m glad I won. smart and returned well, I think that was on important. I know the semi [against Svit Suljic] will be a tough match, but I’ve never played against him, so I’m looking forward to it."
Sara Oliveriusova: "[The quarterfinal] was a very tough match both physically and mentally, Tamina played really good…I think I played well though. [Against Popovski], It’s a semi-final, so of course it will be difficult, but I think there is a chance to go to the final."
09:15 - 18 & UNDER DOUBLES ON SCHEDULE
Thanks to the indoor courts in Klosters, late last night the organisers were able to keep the doubles schedule on track. Here's the link for today's semi-finals, due to take place at 3pm:
Boys' Doubles:
(5) Caniato/Vulpitta (ITA) vs. (12) Schwaezler/Szerencsits (AUT)
(6) Poertner/Stenzer (GER) vs. (14) Berrut/Schoen (SUI, pictured)
Girls' Doubles:
(1) Mae/Mester (ROU) vs. Sramkova/Vargova (SVK)
Molnar/Udvardy (HUN) vs. (2) Pawlikowska/Rowinska (POL)
08:30 - UNFINISHED BUSINESS
It's semi-finals day at both venues, but first several players in Klosters have yet to complete their quarterfinal matches. When the rains came yesterday, three matches were still to be completed, and are scheduled to commence this morning at 09:30:
(11) Sebastian Eriksson (SWE) vs. Tiago Pires (FRA)
Marta Soriano (ESP) vs. Loes Ebeling Koning (NED)
(19) Yaroslava Bartashevich (FRA) vs, (3) Rebecca Munk Morentensen (DEN)
Semi-finals will continue shortly afterwards.
Day 5 - Friday
20:00 - 14&U DOUBLES SEMI-FINALS: PREVIEW
Just four teams remain in the doubles competitions in Most. Home hopes of success will be high. The Czechs have been prolific winners of doubles titles at the 14 & Under event in recent years, claiming either the boys’ or girls’ gold (or both!) in 7 of the last 9 editions.
Three of the boys’ top 4 seeds have emerged to contest the medal matches. The Swedish pair of Knut Andersch & William Kjellberg are the intruders; they followed up an upset of second seeded Brits Ceban & Lawlor with a victory over Greeks Gakapoulos & Michalakopoulos on Friday. Kjellberg, alongside Tomas Krejci (CZE), has secured a second medal of the tournament for his country.
The girls’ draw has been a little less predictable. In the top half, both Luca Kalman & Greta Nemscek (HUN) and Barbara Kostecka & Oliwia Sybicka (POL, pictured) beat seeded teams to seal their semi-final spots. The bottom half of the draw will see a battle of the titans as third seeds Sara Oliveriusova & Lucie Slamenikova (CZE) take on second seeds Stefania Boian & Giulia Safina Popa (ROU). Oliveriusova and Popa are also in singles semi-final action on Saturday, from 10am.
Boys' Doubles
(1) Filiz/Kosaner (TUR) vs. (3) Krejci/Kusy (CZE)
(4) Ink/Smirnov (EST) vs. Andersch/Kjellberg (SWE)
Girls Doubles
(10) Kalman/Nemcsek (HUN) vs. (7) Kostecka/Sybicka (POL)
(3) Oliveriusova/Slamenikova (CZE) vs. (2) Boian/Popa (ROU)
18:45 - SEMI-FINAL LINE-UP SEMI-COMPLETE IN KLOSTERS
The rain is back in Klosters as we speak, and it seems like some matches will have to continue tomorrow morning. However, we already know some of the 18 & Under semifinalists:
Patrick Schoen doesn’t back down - the Swiss player didn’t start today’s match in the best possible way... quite the opposite! Even so, after 30 minutes and a score of 0-6, he continued as though that hadn’t happened, turned the match around and won 0-6 6-4 6-4. He will face Joel Schwaerzler (AUT) in the semifinal, who also had to fight a tough battle against Ukrainian Andrii Zimnokh 7-5 6-7 6-4. Schoen and Schwaerzler have played against each other only once until now, in September 2022, when Schwaerzler won the three-set match.
Lasse Portner (GER) is also a part of the final 4, after his victory against Michal Krajci (SVK) 6-1 6-4. He'll have to wait to find out who his opponent in the semifinal will be, with Sebastian Eriksson (SWE) and Tiago Pires (FRA) yet to complete the final set of their match.
As for the girls’ draw, Ariana Geerlings (ESP) upset second seed Teodora Kostovic (SRB) for a place in the semifinals. They played two intense tiebreaks and the decisive one ended in the Spaniard’s favor. Her next opponent will be either Yaroslava Bartashevich (FRA) or Rebecca Munk Mortensen (DEN).
Meanwhile, after playing three-set matches every day this week, top seed Nina Vargova (SVK, pictured) had her quickest match of the tournament, defeating Artemis Aslanisvili (GRE) 6-1 6-2. She'll play the winner of Marta Soriano (ESP) and Loes Ebeling Koning (NED). When the rain came, Soriano was 4-0 up in the second set, having lost the first.
The evening's doubles action has moved indoors, and is available to watch live now!

Players are back on court in Klosters to continue their quarterfinal matches.
14:30 - MATCHES RESCHEDULED IN KLOSTERS
Persistent rain in Klosters has meant that some doubles matches have been moved indoors. The updated Order of Play is available here.
13:50 - KREJCI BEATS CEBAN TO KEEP HOME HOPES ALIVE
There’ll be no repeat of last week’s Wimbledon 14&U invitational final in Most. Svit Suljic, the runner-up in SW19, continued his good form, scoring a 6-2 6-1 win over Spain’s Alberto Pulido Moreno. However, his victor on the grass courts last Sunday came up short this time. Top seed Mark Ceban made a good start to his match with Tomas Krejci, taking the first set 6-4. The fifth seed (pictured) grew in confidence after that though, clinching a crucial break at the end of the second set before racing through the decider without the loss of a game.
Daniel Jade of France put in the day’s most dominant display, brushing aside the challenge of Vuk Krstajic (MNE) 6-0 6-1. Just last weekend he was playing on the hallowed courts of Roland Garros where he won the Cat.1 Open Stade Français. He next plays William Kjellberg of Sweden, who fought back from the brink of defeat to eventually dominate Laurentiu Badea (ROU). From 2-6 5-5, Kjellberg embarked on a run of 8 games to book his place in the semi-finals with a 6-0 third set.
12:10 - VUJOVIC & POPOVSKI HOPE FOR ALL SERBIAN FINAL
Luna Vujovic and Dusica Popovski (pictured) won their semi-finals in straight sets to keep alive their hopes of an all-Serbian final at the European 14 & Under Championships. Vujovic, on a roll since her Wimbledon win last week, dropped just one game to Hungary’s Luca Kalman. Meanwhile Popovski won a tight first set break against Austria’s Anna Pircher before racing to a 7-6 6-0 win.
Top seed Giulia Safina Popa is also safely through. The Romanian withstood a second set challenge to beat Lucie Slamenikova (CZE) 6-2 7-6 and will next face Vujovic. Popovski’s opponent will be seventh seed Sara Oliveriusova. The last remaining home player ended the run of Germany’s Tamina Kochta in three sets, 6-3 3-6 6-2.
11:00 - RAIN IN KLOSTERS, PLAY UNDER WAY IN MOST...
Rain has interrupted play in Klosters where just one match has been completed so far. Germany's Lasse Poertner became the first player into the semi-finals with a 6-1 6-4 win over Michal Krajci (SVK). There is action taking place in Most though, where top seed Giulia Safina Popa (ROU) and Lucie Slamenikova (CZE) are in an engaging centre court battle:
09:30 - LIVE FROM KLOSTERS
Live streaming is available from the Centre Court in Klosters, where Kevin Edengren (SWE) has got off to a roaring start against the last remaining local player, Patrick Schön. You can choose between this and the other quarerfinals here.
09:00 - HISTORY CALLING
We're down to the last 8 in each category, and of the 32 players in singles action today only one has the chance to join an elite list of players that have won more than one European Junior Championship title. Joel Schwaerzler of Austria won the 16 & Under event last year and has battled through to the quarterfinals of the 18 & Under event in Klosters. With three more wins, he could become the first new player to add to this list in almost 10 years. Stream his match now from Court 2 in Klosters.

After beating the top seed to cause the biggest upset of the boys’ draw, Alejo Sanchez Quilez (ESP) fell to Patrick Schoen (SUI) in a quick match with the score of 6-2 6-2. Schoen (pictured), the only remaining home player in singles, will next play against Kevin Edengren (SWE), whom he defeated earlier this year in the first round at the Australian Open.
On the other side of the draw, Tiago Pires (FRA) withstood a second set fightback from second seed Branko Djuric (SRB) to secure another notable upset. Pires won 6-1, 7-5 and will play the quarterfinal against [11] Sebastian Eriksson (SWE). The Swede got through a tough match today with Pavlos Tsitsipas (GRE), with two of the three sets ending in a tiebreak. Tsitsipas brought an attacking style to the court, with brave serves and volleys on key points, but Eriksson managed to win with fewer unforced errors in the deciding tie break.
While the top two seeds are out, third seed Joel Schwaerzler (AUT) – 16&U gold medalist in 2022 – continues his winning streak, even though he was put in difficulty by Atakan Karahan (TUR) who recovered from a set down to force a decider.
Speaking of 16&U medallists, last year’s runner-up Marta Soriano Santiago (ESP) achieved a great victory against [4] Mara Gae (ROU) 3-6 6-2 6-3. There are 145 places between them on the ITF ranking, but that didn’t show today on the court.
Nina Vargova (SVK) is the top seed on the girls' draw, but has had to fight a series of difficult battles – all of them in three sets. Today, she played against Italian Francesca Gandolfi, and it seemed like she had the match under control, especially in the third set when she was leading 3-1. However, Gandolfi wouldn't give up easily and tried her best until Vargova claimed victory with a score of 5-7, 6-4, 7-5.
17:05 - QUARTER FINALS SET IN MOST
Players from 8 different nations will face off in the boys’ 14 & Under quarterfinals on Friday. Having triumphed last week on his home courts of Wimbledon, top seed Mark Ceban will have the crowd against him on this occasion, as he faces the last remaining Czech in the boys’ competition, Tomas Krejci. Neither player has lost a set so far, with Ceban beating 16th seed Jules Rimbaud (FRA) and Krejci overcoming old foe Leon Sloboda (SVK) on Thursday. The pair has met just once previously – just two weeks ago Ceban overcame Krejci in a tight three set match at the Summer Cups.
Wimbledon runner-up Svit Suljic (SLO) continued his good form with a 6-3 6-4 win over Knut Andersch (SWE) and next faces Spain’s Alberto Pulido Moreno. Between them, the pair has played over 200 matches on the Junior Tour, yet this will be their first encounter.
William Johan Kjellberg of Sweden claimed the upset of the day, conceding just five games to fourth seed Marco Ontiveros Castro (GER). His quarterfinal opponent will be another upset-merchant, Laurentiu Badea of Romania, who took out his second seed of the tournament in the shape of #9 Jakub Kusy (CZE).
In form Daniel Jade of France marches on in the bottom half of the draw. Having beaten Belgium’s Louis Mouffe 7-5 6-3, on Friday the Paris champion will face 14th seed Vuk Krstajic. The Montenegrin scored an impressive 6-3 6-4 win over Adolofo Abascal of Spain in his fourth round match.
In the girls’ singles, top seed Giulia Safina Popa will face her biggest challenge yet in the form of eighth seed Lucie Slamenikova. The Czech stuttered on Thursday in beating Antonia Stoyanov (NED) 6-1 3-6 6-1, while Popa cruised to a 6-4 6-1 win over Kali Supova (SVK).
Wimbledon champ Luna Vujovic accounted for a second successive seed on Thursday, this time taking out Spain’s Carla Vazquez Alcudia 6-4 6-2. Her quarterfinal opponent will be Luca Kalman of Hungary (pictured), who won a tough three setter against ninth seed Oliwia Sybicka (POL).
In the bottom half of the draw, Tamina Kochta continues her impressive run. She lost just five games to Barnara Kostecka (POL) and next faces Sara Olivierusova. The Czech seventh seed beat Mira Karatogma (TUR) 6-4 6-3 on Thursday.
The quarterfinal line up is completed by two players who upset higher ranked opponents earlier today. 14th seed Anna Pircher of Austria took out second seed Sofie Hettlerova 6-4 6-3 and will meet Dusica Popovski. The Serbian accounted for fifth seed Ioana-Stefania Boian 6-4 6-1. Popovski leads their head to head 1:0, though they have not met since playing in the 12 & under age group.
14:55 - #THROWBACK THURSDAY - RUNE IN MOST
From 14 & Under to the top of the professional game is a very long journey. Astonishingly, it was just six years ago this week we spoke to a triumphant Holger Rune, fresh from winning the European Junior Championships title in Most.
A good friend to the Junior Tour, the Dane is one of a handful of players to be ranked #1 at 14, 16 and 18 & Under levels, and has been known to pop in to Junior School classes and give advice to the players following in his footsteps.
This week the world #6 is in action at the Hopman Cup in Nice.

The two have met on three previous occasions, with all three matches going the distance. Their most recent match was just two weeks ago at the European Summer Cups:

09:00 - TUNE INTO KLOSTERS FOR LIVE ACTION
Play is already under way in Switzerland, where organisers hope to complete the day's singles action by lunchtime to focus on the backlogged doubles schedule. We're tipping this to be an entertaining match: Tiago Pires (FRA) vs. second seed Branco Djuric (SRB).
Play commences in Most at 10am. All streaming links are above.
UPDATE: Pires scored the upset, beating the second seed 6-1 7-5.
08:30 - A BUSY DAY AHEAD
Day 4 is likely to be a long one for the players, especially in Klosters, where all competitors will have to play two doubles matches on top of their scheduled singles. By the end of the day we should know the last 8 singles players in each competition.
Overnight our photo galleries have been restocked: thanks to TopTennis.photos in Most. Over 300 images are now available for the 14 & Under Championships, check them out.
Day 3 - Wednesday
22:30 - THURSDAY'S SCHEDULES ONLINE
After Wednesday's rain delays, it's been a challenge but Thursday's complete schedules are now online. Join us again tomorrow when Europe's top juniors will be battling for places in the quarterfinals.
18:25 - DOUBLE TROUBLE
As doubles action gets under way in Most - and doubles matches are cancelled for the day in Klosters, meaning teams will have to play twice tomorrow - we've been thinking about some of the former European Junior Doubles Champions. 14 of those gold medallists have gone to become world #1, including last week's Wimbledon winner Barbora Strycova. Check out the list below...
18:05 - TOP SEEDS SURVIVE CLOSE ENCOUNTERS IN KLOSTERS
Players in Klosters have been battling the rain as well as each other, though some were lucky enough to score early wins before the interruptions came. Hungarian Luca Udvardy, who competed here last year as well, came from one set down to upset 9th seed Malwina Rowinska (POL) 3-6 7-5 6-4. In 2022 Udvardy arrived in Switzerland with the Wimbledon runner-up trophy but didn’t adapt quickly enough to the clay courts, resulting in a loss in the fourth round. Unseeded this time, she’ll be aiming to go further.
Michaela Laki, gold medalist at the 14 & Under Championships in 2019, was very close to causing the biggest upset of the day. Against the second seed, Teodora Kostovic (SRB), she was leading 4-1 in the third set, right when they had to take a break because of the weather conditions. Upon returning to the court, Kostovic came back with a different mindset, turned the match around, and won 4-6, 7-5, 7-5.
Also in girls’ action, top seed Nina Vargova (SVK) survived a tricky match local player Karolina Kozakova, recovering from the loss of the first set to eventually win 5-7 6-4 6-3 in a match that was interrupted several times by the rain. The pair also faced off in last year’s doubles final, with Vargova also victorious on that occasion.
Another home player, Adrien Berrut, claimed victory after a three-set battle against Ivan Biletic (BIH). In the third round Berrut will play against last year’s 16&U champion Joel Schwaerzler (AUT) currently ranked #17. To alleviate the backlog of matches, some players are taking to the courts of nearby TC Grüsch.
And in the biggest shock of the tournament so far, Spain's Alejo Sanchez Quilez defeated top seed Illyan Radulov of Bulgaria 6-4 1-6 6-1.
16:15 - AFTER THE STORMS...AN UPSET BREWS
Rain has been the main protagonist in both Most and Klosters since lunchtime, but players are now back on court at both venues. Upset alert: follow live action from Klosters, where top seed Nina Vargova (SVK) has just lost the first set 5-7 to home player Karolina Kozakova.
13:30 - CZECHS BOUNCE ALONG IN MOST...
It’s been a pretty good morning for the Czechs at home in Most, where four of the five players in singles action advanced. Last weekend’s Wimbledon 14 & Under finalists Mark Ceban and Svit Suljic could be on collision course for another showdown, as the pair both advanced in straight sets. Suljic was particularly impressive in dismissing third seeded Turk Kosaner. Here’s the key results so far on Day 3:
Boys Singles
(1) Mark Ceban (GBR) d. Paul Hjorteland (NOR) 6-4 7-5
Svit Suljic (SLO) d. (3) Kaan Isik Kosaner (TUR) 6-3 6-1
(5) Tomas Krejci (CZE) d. Francesco Pansecchi (ITA) 7-5 6-0
(9) Jakub Kusy (CZE) d. Rafael Gakopoulos (GRE) 6-3 6-1
Tymur Chukanov (UKR) d. (12) Filip Ladman (CZE) 6-1 6-2
Girls Singles
(7) Sara Olivierusova (CZE, pictured) d. Margrete Berg (NOR) 4-6 6-2 6-0
Tamina Kochta (GER) d. Emilija Lebedevaite (LTU) 6-1 6-2
(8) Lucie Slamenikova (CZE) d. Aikaterini Oustampasidou (GRE) 6-3 6-3
12:30 - EARLY RESULTS FROM KLOSTERS
Loes Ebeling Koning, one of the players benefitting from the experience of Dutch former world #5 Kiki Bertens, has upset the 11th seed Liam Oved (ISR) in straight sets. Ukraine’s Anastasiia Firman also advanced confidently into round 4, a 6-0 6-4 winner over Indira Lepage (BEL).
In the boys’ singles, top seed Illyan Radulov (BUL) is through after completing a 6-2 6-3 win over Antonio Voljavec (CRO). 2021 16&U Junior Masters runner-up Michal Krajci (SVK) moved comfortably into the third round, dropping just one game to Elvin Hashimov (AZE)
11:35 - WIMBLEDON CHAMP VUJOVIC MARCHES ON
A big early result from Most as Luna Vujovic (SRB) continues her excellent recent form to beat home favourite and fourth seed Veronika Sekerkova 6-2 6-3, levelling their head to head at three matches apiece. We caught up with last week's Wimbledon 14 & Under Invitational champion yesterday for a few words...
10:20 - RAIN IN KLOSTERS
Rain stopped play once again at the 18 & Under Championships. At the time of interruption, Malwina Rowinska (9, POL) was a set up on Luca Udvardy (HUN) and top seed Illyan Radulov (BUL) was in control against Croatia's Antonio Voljavec, up a set a break 6-2 2-0...
Update: (11:00) - Players are back on court to try again.
10:00 - FOLLOW SEKERKOVA vs. VUJOVIC LIVE
If you're following the live streaming, a match of the day contender is up first on Centre Court in Most at 10am.
Veronika Sekerkova (CZE) and Luna Vujovic (SRB) are undoubtedly two of the brightest prospects in the 14 & Under age group. Vujovic arrives in Most having won the 14 & Under Invitational at Wimbledon last week, while Sekerkova hopes to capitalise on home advantage and build on the silver medal she won in doubles here last year.
They’ve played some big matches against each other already, notably the final of the inaugural season-ending 12 & Under Festival in 2021. Sekerkova won their first three matches, including that big one in Mallorca, but Vujovic has won the last two – including at this venue at the Junior Tour event in Most last year. Head to Head.
They’re rivals, but also friends and have teamed up in doubles on several occasions. Tune in now to find out who wins this particular battle.

Day 2 - Tuesday
20:00 - RAIN ENDS PLAY FOR THE DAY IN KLOSTERS
There'll be no more play in Klosters today as persistent rain spoiled organisers' chances of commencing the doubles program.
Better weather is expected tomorrow, when players will have some extra matches to catch up on. Check out the order of play here.
18:40 - TUESDAY'S SINGLES ACTION COMPLETE IN MOST
Top seed and European #1 Mark Ceban cruised through to the second round of the 14&U Championships in Most. The Brit beat Moritz Glauser of Liechtenstein 6-3 6-2. Ceban’s doubles partner Rhys Lawlor was not so lucky though. The seventh seeded recent Roehampton Cat.1 champion fell in straight sets to Romania’s Laurentiu Badea.
Patrik Semenic caused the upset of the day. At one point the Slovenian was on the brink of defeat to second seeded Turk Samim Filiz, but he bounced back to score a memorable 4-6 7-6(6) 6-3 win and move into the third round.
As mentioned earlier, the match of the day on the girls’ side saw Tamina Kochta of Germany (pictured) outlast Britain’s third seed Hollie Smart. Trailing by a set, Kochta recovered to lead 5-2 in the third before Smart battled back to force a tie break. It proved to be in vain though as the German held her nerve for a 7-5 tie-break win. Asked about the match, Kochta told us, "Of course I was a little bit angry about some points I lost. At 5-2 I played 1% less focused and immediately I lost the game. She came back after that." Looking ahead in the tournament, she said "I know I have some chances here, but I will just go round by round."
Four of the top 8 seeds in the girls’ competition are from the host nation, and all advanced with no problems on Tuesday. They’ll be looking to repeat the success of last year when Czechs claimed two gold and one silver medal across the 14&U girls events.
Tuesday’s schedule drew to a close with first and second round doubles matches, with no major upsets caused. Full results can be found at the links above.
17:35 - FANS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TUNE INTO STREAMING FROM KLOSTERS
1,500 online visitors with 10,000 views watched well over 500 hours of tennis on the first day of the European Junior Championships yesterday. The visitors came from 50 countries, with 20% from Switzerland, followed by Germany, the Netherlands, Latvia and Finland.
16:20 - BERTENS AMONG FORMER PLAYERS COACHING FOR THEIR FEDERATIONS
No fewer than 6 of the team coaches on site in Klosters have been ranked in the ATP or WTA Top 100, and several of them even played at the European Championships as they took the steps from their junior to professional careers.
One of the most celebrated this year is former WTA world #5 Kiki Bertens, who is guiding the Dutch girls’ team of Joy de Zeeuw and Loes Ebeling Koning. She spared a few moments to talk to us about her new role:
How did you get into coaching the national team, and is coaching the future for you?
After finishing my own career, after one and a half years sitting at home, I wanted to do something again. It’s great to be on court with the next generation to help them and to do something for the sport that brought me so much.
What are your expectations for your players this week?
I hope that they will fight in every match till the end and that they learn some lessons from this tournament.
How do you think it helps them to have a former top 5 player in their corner?
I think I can share my own experiences with them, what helped me on court, how I dealt with different things. And also what it takes to be an professional athlete.
You didn’t play much in juniors, on ITF or Tennis Europe. Do you think it’s possible to get to the top today without doing that?
Yes for sure, there are more ways to get to the top! But I think the experience of travelling at a young age will help a lot for the future!
Tell us what you think about the Tennis Europe Junior Tour.
Well to be honest I don’t have much experience yet. But so far I really like it and I hope you will see me around.
We hope so too! Thanks Kiki and best of luck this week!

14:10 - TSITSIPAS SCORES SHOCK WIN IN KLOSTERS
Unseeded Pavlos Tsitsipas has pulled off the biggest upset so far in Klosters. He overcame a rankings gap of 337 places on the ITF Junior rankings to oust 7th seed Nicolai Budkov Kjaer of Norway.
The reigning Junior Masters champion, Budkov has won two claycourt titles already this season and was favoured to win but found no answer to the heavy service that allowed his Greek opponent to dominate.
Pavlos will be hoping to emulate his elder brother Stefanos, who won the title here in 2016. The last brothers to each secure European Championships titles were Sweden’s Ymer brothers, Mikael and Elias, who snatched a total of four silver and golds between 2011 and 2014.
13:15 - KOCHTA OUTSMARTS HOLLIE TO RECORD BIGGEST UPSET SO FAR
Some key results from early on Day 2 in Most and Britain’s Hollie Smart becomes the biggest name to be upset so far. The third seed has had a busy few days, having travelled to the Czech Republic from Wimbledon, where she was runner-up at the 14 & Under Invitational event on Sunday. She was outlasted by Germany’s Tamina Kochta, who came back from a set down to win 3-6 6-4 7-6, recovering after Smart fought back from 2-5 in the third set to force a tie-break. Other scores so far:
Boys Singles:
(1) Mark Ceban (GBR) d. Moritz Glauser 6-3 6-2

He's taking on Marko Maksimovic of Serbia, the 2021 Junior Masters 16 & Under Champion.
UPDATE: Schaerzler won 6-3 6-4
10:55 - NATIONAL FEDERATIONS CHEER ON THEIR TEAMS
Good to see so many national federations getting behind their teams on social media. Here's a few highlights:

Day 1 - Monday
20:50 - DAY 1 ROUND-UP FROM KLOSTERS
From the host nation’s team, Patrick Schoen breezed through his match against Slovak Marek Nano 6-3 6-0, and so did Kenisha Moning in hers against Ivana Milkova of North Macedonia 6-1 6-2. However, things were not as easy for their compatriot Aurora Zurmuehle, who lost to the higher-ranked Indira Lepage (BEL).
Last year’s 16 & Under event runner-up Marta Soriano Santiago (ESP) and semifinalist Lucie Urbanova (CZE) will play against each other in the next round, after having quick victories today. The last time they played a singles match was in 2019 on the Junior Tour, and the Czech won 7-5 6-1.
Three seeds have been upset today on the boys’ draw, including Jan Hrazdil of Czech Republic (ITF #32) who fell to Hungarian Patrik Meszaros (ITF #202) 6-4 1-6 6-2.
Nicolai Budkov Kjaer (NOR) has also returned to the EJCs, this time in the 18&U draw. After winning the 16&U Junior Masters in October last year (pictured), he has won four ITF titles and is now ranked #28. As most of the top seeds, he will enter the competition tomorrow and will play against Pavlov Tsitsipas.
20:10 - DAY 1 ROUND-UP FROM MOST
With almost all the seeded 14&U players making their tournament debuts on Tuesday, attention was focused on the lower-ranked players in Most. One of the most eagerly anticipated was Svit Suljic, who had the fastest of turnarounds. Little over 24 hours after losing the Wimbledon 14&U Invitational final, the Slovenian was back to winning ways, scoring a 6-2 6-4 win over Gabriel Niedermayr (AUT).
Spain’s Adolfo Abascal just missed out on a seeding, but played like a tournament favourite, being Nazim Malikov (AZE) 6-0 6-0. He could be a tough third round challenge for second seed Samim Filiz (TUR), if the Turkish player wins his opening match on Tuesday.
On the girls’ side, Luna Vujovic (SRB, pictured) was also in action in Wimbledon on Sunday, posting an historic win. She had the relative luxury of playing last, and if she was tired, it didn’t show. Still bursting with confidence after her Wimbledon victory, she wasted no time in beating Andrea Georgiou Papakyriacou of Cyprus, 6-4 6-1.
Kali Supova of Slovakia is the only one of the 2022 14&U Junior Masters qualifiers to be competing, and she eased into the third round with a 6-2 6-1 win over Anna Brandt Schultz (DEN). Belgium’s Marilyn Van Brempt just missed out on a seeding and set up an intriguing debut for the tournament’s top seed Giulia Safina Popa of Romania. Van Brempt raced to victory on Monday without losing a game.
STAT OF THE DAY: of 64 singles matches played, just five went to three sets.

14:00 - EARLY RESULTS FROM MOST

19:15 - DRAWS AND SCHEDULE
The singles draws and tomorrow's Day 1 schedule are now online! Check the links above for all the latest information. Play gets under way at 9am in Klosters and 10am in Most.
16:00 - GRASS TO CLAY, IN JUST ONE DAY
One of the biggest challenges in professional tennis is the infamous switch in surfaces from clay to grass between Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Some of the EJC's top players are facing the same challenge in reverse, racing from final appearances in SW19 on Sunday to arrive in time for their first round matches on clay.
All four of today’s Wimbledon 14&U Invitational finalists – winners Mark Ceban (GBR, pictured) and Luna Vujovic (SRB), and runners-up Svit Suljic (SLO) and Hollie Smart (GBR), are scheduled to compete in Most. Many of the 18 & Under competitors also played at Wimbledon this week, with boys’ top seed Illyan Radulov (BUL) being the most successful, reaching the quarter finals.
10:00 - PLAYERS ARE ARRIVING
It's the eve of the Championships and players are gathering in Most and Klosters, eager to practice and acclimatise.
Later on today there'll be a spectacular opening ceremony in the mountain-top resort of Klosters, and Junior School sessions at both venues. Draws and the Day 1 schedule can be expected this evening.
