Tennis Europe & La Manga Club renew partnership

Tennis Europe has announced a two-year renewal of its partnership with La Manga Club.

Under the terms of the agreement, the award-winning resort in Murcia, south-east Spain will continue to enjoy a range of benefits from Tennis Europe, who will create new business opportunities for the venue and market it directly to key target groups including tennis clubs, tournament organisers and Europe’s 49 national tennis federations.

In return, Tennis Europe will hold further international conferences at La Manga Club and have the opportunity to stage regional and pan-European training camps and events at the resort, while La Manga Club will host the prestigious European Seniors Club Tennis Championships later this year in September and potential exciting new events.

Olli Mäenpää, Chief Executive Officer of Tennis Europe, said: “We are delighted to continue our fruitful relationship with La Manga Club. The facilities at the site are first class, and it has proven to be a perfect venue for our high-level tennis tournaments, training camps and conferences alike. Many of our member nations have followed suit in taking advantage of the excellent services available to organise their own events and camps, and we look forward to continuing to showcase La Manga Club at a European level in the coming years.”

Jose Asenjo, General Manager of La Manga Club, says: “La Manga Club has had a long and valued association with Tennis Europe, and this new agreement will help take our partnership to the next level. The resort has a rich tennis heritage having hosted some of the world’s leading players and tournaments, and we’re very excited at the prospect of working closely with Tennis Europe and the new opportunities that it will bring.”

As well as hosting both Davis and Fed Cup tennis matches, La Manga Club is the overseas training base for the British Lawn Tennis Association. It has also staged the Spanish Open golf championship and regularly attracts professional and international football teams to its first-class, year-round training facilities, which are also used by rugby and cricket sides.

In addition to its outstanding tennis academy, La Manga Club’s extensive facilities also include three 18-hole championship golf courses and a new Leadbetter Golf Academy – the only one of its kind in mainland Spain – a new High Performance Sports Centre and 2,000m² spa and fitness complex, a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses and more than 20 bars and restaurants.
