Tennis Europe & online school Minerva’s Virtual Academy extend partnership

Tennis Europe has confirmed a two-year extension to its partnership with Official Online School Partner, Minerva’s Virtual Academy.

Since joining forces in August 2022, the two organisations have worked to raise awareness of the increasing importance and availability of flexible study solutions for young athletes. Tennis Europe strives to facilitate access to educational opportunities for the Junior Tour’s 20,000+ eligible players, some of whom struggle to find adequate solutions for combining travel and tournament schedules with full-time studies.

One player to benefit from the Tennis Europe-Minerva relationship is current European #4, Andrei Radu of Romania. Since joining the school in September 2023, the student’s on-court performances have gone from strength to strength, culminating in recent wins at the Super Category tournament in Stockholm and the Category 1 Burgas event, and a best 14 & Under ranking of #2. Radu credits the increased flexibility of his studies as a major factor in his rise to the top of the ranking list for players of his age group.

Tennis Europe CEO Thomas Hammerl said, “It’s a pleasure to work with an award-winning institution such as Minerva’s Virtual Academy, and over the past two years we have been impressed by their professionalism, commitment and attention to the specific circumstances of the numerous Junior Tour players now studying with them. We are looking forward to another two years of the cooperation and to continued success.”

To celebrate the renewal of the partnership, Minerva’s Virtual Academy will be offering a 10% discount on Annual Fees for the academic year 2024/25 to all new enrolments finalised by 17th June.

Parents and young athletes interested in learning more about the opportunities provided by studying with Minerva can access a view-on-demand Open Event or contact Minerva directly for an introductory Discovery Call.

Minerva’s Virtual Academy Elite Athlete Education Officer Fabian Spiess commented, ‘We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with Tennis Europe. Over the past 2 years it has been a pleasure working with their team and most importantly, supporting their junior tour members with a high-quality, flexible education that can meet the demands of their sport. We look forward to a further two years of working closely together and helping our tennis playing students like Andrei reach even greater heights in their game."
