A Tennis Europe regional meeting was held this morning on the eve of the International Tennis Federation’s Annual General Meeting in Hong Kong.
Tennis Europe President Henrik Thorsøe Pedersen chaired the meeting, giving the delegates a first in-person update from the Board of Management that was elected earlier this year to serve until 2028.
Representatives from 39 member nations also heard updates from the Junior Tennis and Development departments, presented by Committee Chairs Sandi Procter and Cem Tinaz respectively.
The delegates then split into working groups in order to discuss a wide range of topics including the Junior Tour, tennis participation and environmental, social and governance issues.
ITF President David Haggerty was on hand to open the meeting, congratulating the assembly on an excellent turnout.
Henrik Thorsøe Pedersen commented, “This meeting represents a rare chance for the leaders from all Tennis Europe member nations to gather together and exchange their views and experiences in an informal setting. I could feel the passion during the working group discussions and would like to thank everyone for their valued contributions today. Such honest and open dialogue is crucial as we continue to work on creating an optimal strategy for the coming years.”
The week’s meetings continued on Wednesday afternoon with the ITF World Participation Conference ahead of the Annual General Meeting on Thursday and Friday.
