Tennis Europe & Patricio Travel Join Forces

Tennis Europe has announced a two-year partnership with leading tennis tour operator Patricio Travel. Under the terms of the agreement, the German company will be recognised as the European Federation’s official travel partner, and will become involved in the hosting and organisation of major senior tennis events.

The agreement will see Patricio Travel take over the event managment of two of Tennis Europe’s flagship senior tennis competitions; the European Senior Championships and European Senior Club Championships.

In 2016, these tournaments will be held at the Ali Bey Resort in Sorgun, Turkey. Furthermore, the Ali Bey Hotels & Resorts group – the main resort partner of Patricio Travel in Turkey – is granted Tennis Europe’s official resort partnership rights, and joins long term Tennis Europe partner La Manga Club in Spain as a preferred venue of the organisation.

Tennis Europe Chief Executive Officer Olli Mäenpää commented, “We are thrilled to be working with Patricio Travel. It has been a long term goal of Tennis Europe to broaden our portfolio of services to the European tennis community, and this is one of our first steps into the tourism industry. We are proud to recognise the excellence of Patricio Travel’s services, and hope to extend their reach to a wider base of tennis travellers across the continent, whilst also further enhancing our most popular senior tennis events.”

Patricio Travel CEO Wolfgang Riedl praised the partnership, saying, “Thanks to the cooperation with Tennis Europe we are looking forward to extending the reach of our brand and to providing a direct access to our exclusive tennis experiences for people from the organisation’s member states. We are also very excited to be bestowing a new and worthy setting upon the European Senior Club and Individual Championships in 2016.”

The Patricio Travel calendar includes more than 50 tennis events (including international tournaments, training camps with former professional players, seminars and congresses) for associations, groups and individuals. Over 20,000 tennis players from all over the world travel to these events each year.
